Petrol marketers in the country have told the government for the umpteenth time that they can no longer sell petrol at N145 a litre. The marketers under the aegies of Depot and Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPMAN) made their decision known to the government at a meeting with top officials at the presidential villa on Tuesday in Abuja. The marketers insisted that selling petrol at N145 a litre was no longer profitable as the price of crude oil in the international market has risen and this has a corresponding relation with the price of refined products. The Lagos State Government on Wednesday shutdown a Petrol Filling Station, an Hotel and Event Centre belonging to a suspected Badoo cult kingpin, Alhaji Alaka Abayomi Kamal. The structures, situated along Ijebu-Ode-Itoikin Road in Sabo area of Ikorodu were sealed for violating the State’s Urban and Regional Planning Law of 2010. The Police, had on December 22, 2017, declared Alaka wanted in connection with series of well-orchestrated killings and nefarious activities of the Badoo cult group in Ikorodu and Epe area of the State. Alaka is believed to be the ring leader of the Badoo menace. The State Government, in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, said the order sealing off the structures was in pursuant to Section 60 of the said Law. A teenage suicide bomber killed 11 people on Wednesday in an attack on a mosque in northeast Nigeria, the epicentre of the conflict with Islamist insurgency Boko Haram, two military officials, a resident and an aid worker said. The bomber hit the mosque in the town of Gamboru in Borno state, near Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, during dawn prayers, said Ali Mustapha, an aid worker, and Lawan Abba, a resident, Reuters reports. The attack bears the hallmarks of Boko Haram, a jihadist group which frequently uses suicide bombers, often women and girls, to attack crowded public spaces such as mosques and markets. The incident occurred on Wednesday at 5: 00 am when the a teenage male bomber who had disowned his father detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Mosque. Maj.-Gen.
